As part of a co-ordinated strategy to increase traffic from the British market to the Vaucluse region in Provence, France, the tourism board employed Digital Visitor to develop, deliver and manage their social media activity within the UK.
Using a mix of both onsite and offsite social media solutions, the key objective is to develop the presence and visibility of the Vaucluse region to the British market as well as to increase traffic to the Vaucluse Tourism Agency’s website www.provenceguide.co.uk
The onsite social media strategy involves the creation of a branded review platform which will sit seamlessly on the tourism board’s website www.provenceguide.co.uk.
Using our application, visitors to the region will be able to upload their own photos, videos and text reviews of their travel experiences. These reviews will not only provide the tourist board with relevant information about their visitors, but it will also offer new potential visitors the information they search for before making a purchasing decision.
As well as the onsite review solution, Digital Visitor will also provide offsite social media marketing services to further develop and manage the regions online presence on relevant blogs, forums and Facebook specifically.
The Vaucluse Tourism Board covers the picturesque towns of Avignon, Luberon and Ventoux in the Provence region. Many claim that the region features several villages that are classified as the “most beautiful villages in France”.

The area is famous for it’s love of gastronomy, festivals, stunning natural wonders including the Ochres, Mout-Venoux and lavender fields, cycling, hiking and ancient roman culture.
Simon Jones, Marketing Director of Digital Visitor commented:
“We are delighted to be working with the Vaucluse Tourism Agency to encourage travel from the UK market to this beautiful region of France. The board wanted to work with an agency who had an excellent understanding of the UK tourism market, and felt that our experience would be the perfect match”
Sophie Boutin from the Vaucluse Tourism Agency said:
“The UK is an important market for our region and are keen to develop a social media strategy to help encourage even more visits. We are really looking forward to working with Digital Visitor to showcase our wonderful and unique events, culture and natural wonders to the UK market.”
